I Love That Place!

While I was walking into Meijer the other day to buy goldfish crackers and lemonade to bribe my Sunday School kids, I was greeted by a cashier several rows down:

“Orphans Treasure Box! I love that place! It’s my favorite! I tell everyone about it!” I was slightly confused until I remembered that I was wearing my Orphans Treasure Box t-shirt.

This unexpected, yet much appreciated, interaction reminded me how much we, as followers of Christ, should be a part of our communities. The whole “be in the world but not of the world” thing is always easier said than done, but I loved the idea that something as simple as our OTB t-shirts can tell people that we’re doing something different, something amazing, for the betterment of our community.
