A ReStart Through Work

Empowering women through employment

ReStart-collage3

Since 2016, ReStart has employed and offered vocational training for women who need a new beginning.  We also have provided a safe place to complete mandated community service hours in a work environment. Their backgrounds have varied. Some are coming out of addiction, others out of prison, and many have experienced domestic abuse, or other trauma. Although their stories are all different, they’ve all shared one common need: a business that will employ them and as they start again. They find that here. One graduate said that after getting 22 no’s from prospective employers, she received a huge yes from us. Another graduate was unsure that anyone could see beyond her record. She expected a no but leaned across the table during the interview, saying “If you give me a chance, I will be your best worker.” We gave her a chance.

Many program graduates go on to full time and nearly full time jobs and secure housing. Some have seen their families reunited. When they got jobs and housing, children who had been living elsewhere could be reunited with their moms. We’ve had others who have not found our program to be the right fit for them, but we hope that their experiences here have been a financial help, and have assisted them to getting to the next step in their journey.

Are you someone, or do you know someone who could benefit from this program? Check out the full job description and application below. You can also contact us with questions.
